7th grade track, 8th grade volleyball, basketball and baseball (on the boys' team). Weightlifting though high school and beyond.

Born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, Dainty spent her childhood at Wheels Roller Rink and Roll-O-Rena, dreaming of winning the skate limbo contest. She took a break from skating to hit the books, moving to Indiana for college, unsuccessfully trying to convince her friends there to go to the local roller rink with her. Dainty then headed East to New Jersey for graduate school, earning a Ph.D. in social psychology from Rutgers University in 2008. During her time at Rutgers, she discovered the resurgence of roller derby and found it to be the perfect outlet for academia-induced stress, as well as a chance to hang out with people who weren't also psychologists. Now she balances derby with life as a quantitative research analyst for a psychology-focused market research firm, crunching bones after crunching numbers all day. She specializes in online media knowledge, electronic gaming, targeting appropriate market segments and targeting jammers at the front of the pack. When not skating or doing research, Dainty likes to geek out by solving New York Times crossword puzzles, learning about local NYC history, reading, and watching documentaries.
