- Bio
Snap originates from the Southwest growing up in Phoenix and LA with a long history of performing arts including everything from Shakespeare to Broadway musicals to television commercials. After conservatory training (BFA in Theater with a Minor in Religious Studies) she moved directly to NYC and continued her acting career appearing on stage locally and regionally, on the big screen in tiny films no one has ever heard of, as well as a couple stints on a few soap operas. She is also a founding member of the award winning theater company Nicu's Spoon in 2001 which promotes awareness of marginalized populations such as refugees, minorities and all who lack a voice to speak for themselves. Snap found derby in 2004 when she saw a group of crazy Gotham Girls rolling around hitting each other in the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island. She got a flyer, went to the very next practice and has been with GGRD ever since, even after a potential career-ending broken wrist that put the "snap" in her name. Now, after over 5 years of derby, she's GGRD's League President, a member of the Coaching Committee and is active in the national Women's Flat Track Derby Association promoting the sport and the future of all its 70+ member leagues.
