Mayday grew up playing any and every sport she could get her hands on, from baseball with her brothers to being the bottom of the pyramid in junior cheerleading. She found her calling with soccer, which she played competitively for over 10 years and was captain of her high school team in the suburbs of Chicago. She currently runs, lifts weights and plays intramural soccer and kickball when she's not playing derby.
- Bio
Mayday moved to NYC a day before Gotham tryouts in December 2009 from Madison, WI, where she had been living and working for the previous 7 years. She was introduced to derby by her co-worker Chop Suzy 2 years ago. Upon watching her first bout, she thought, "I can do that." Mayday splits her time between working at the Onion newspaper, collecting sponsorships for GGRD and going to as many bars, restaurants and concerts as she can. She's on a search for the best bloody mary and a neighborhood bar where everyone will know her name.
