Athletic Background

Megahurtz started swimming at a very young age and competed on summer leagues for about 8 years. She had short stints playing youth soccer and softball until she was picked up by the middle school basketball team for being one of the tallest girls in her class. She played 5A Basketball in Houston, Texas, for 4 years as a center/power forward. After graduating college in 2001, Megahurtz played in a womens' basketball league for a couple of years, then moved on to a co-ed cycling club, and trained for a sprint triathlon in 2004.

Bio

Born in Wyoming, raised in Texas, Megahurtz got to New York as soon as she could. She has a younger sister and a large extended family (nearing 30 cousins on her Mom's side alone), mostly residing in Houston. Megahurtz has a marketing degree from a private liberal arts university in San Antonio, where she started working in commercial real estate. She currently works for a real estate developer in Manhattan and manages her own small real estate investment portfolio.
